From First Pair to Pro Sports Collaborations

What started with one custom pair of sneakers has grown into footwear projects connected to athletes, sports teams, and major Detroit moments. Juliana has created custom cleats and sneakers for projects tied to the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Pistons and athlete storytelling moments where the artwork carries meaning beyond the design.

From cause-based cleats to team-inspired sneakers and large-scale sports artwork, each project is built around the person, the moment, and the story behind it.

The Story Behind the First Pair

Before the murals, cleats, canvases, apparel, and large-scale collaborations, Just by Juliana started with a pair of Air Force 1s. During the 2020 lockdown, I painted my brother’s old sneakers with his favorite superhero, Spider-Man and the video ended up reaching over 1.8 million views.

That pair became the turning point. Suddenly, people were messaging me asking for custom shoes, and what started as one painted pair turned into the beginning of Just by Juliana.

How the Custom Footwear Process Works

Step 1: Submit an Inquiry

Start by sharing the footwear type, size, timeline, budget range, reference photos, and any ideas, colors, themes, logos, or personal details you want included.

Step 2: Project Review & Creative Direction

Juliana reviews the request and follows up to discuss the story, style, footwear base, wearability needs, timeline, and overall creative direction before anything is designed.

Step 3: Quote, Invoice & Deposit

Once the scope is clear, a custom quote is provided based on the footwear type, level of detail, materials, timeline, and whether the shoes are provided or need to be sourced. After the quote is approved, an invoice and deposit are required to secure the project.

Step 4: Concept & Design Direction

After the project is booked, Juliana begins developing the visual direction or mockup based on the approved project details.

Step 5: Painting, Sealing & Final Details

The footwear is prepped, hand-painted, sealed, finished, photographed, and prepared for pickup, delivery, or shipping depending on the project.
